an englishman in osaka is about an Englishman, well, living in Osaka. It is a personal blog that reflects on different aspects of Japanese culture, usually in a satirical, sarcastic, or another humourous way.

What can I find there?
Different aspects and stories about Japan and Japanese Culture. There are some photos, both his own and others, and sometimes videos.

Why should I check it out?
It will make you laugh. To be honest, probabably more so if you live or have lived in Japan as it will be easier for you to relate to some of the things he blogs about, but even if you haven’t you can appreciate most of the humor.

Conclusion
While it isn’t updated as much as some other blogs, it is updated enough to where I include it to the list of blogs that I check out daily. If you are interested in Japanese culture and if you like to laugh, an englishman in osaka is a must read.

What is it?
TV in Japan is pretty much what you would expect: a blog about TV in Japan. Japanese TV is kind of, well, let’s just say “unique.” Sometimes bizarre, sometimes funny, sometimes incredibly cheesy (think prime time shows with the acting ability of the cast of Saved By the Bell) and sometimes just unexplainable. Anyway, TV in Japan does exactly what their slogan gets at, “This is what TV is like. In Japan.”

What can I find there?
An endless amount of video clips, old and new, from Japanese TV shows and commercials.

Why should I check it out?
If you have never watched Japanese TV, you are have no idea what you are missing. There are no words I can type here to fully explain Japanese TV.

Conclusion
TV in Japan has some of the best clips from Japanese TV shows and commercials. Some clips are only in Japanese and some have subtitles, but for most, you do not need to understand Japanese at all to appreciate these tidbits from Japanese Culture. Since it is updated regularly you can add it to your daily routine of blogs to check and not be disappointed.

Tokyo Times is the other of my two favorite blogs about Japan, covering just about everything relating to Japan from pop culture to politics.

What can I find there?
Lot’s of interesting and original content about Japan, which includes a lot of personal accounts and photographs. There is some main stream stuff that other blogs talk about but a lot more original content than the average blog on Japan.

Why should I check it out?
There is some main stream stuff that other blogs talk about but a lot more original content than the average Japan blog.

Conclusion
Considering there is only one author, Tokyo Times updates often enough to keep you coming back everyday in hopes of a new article. In particular the writing and the personal touch really gives it an original voice.

Digital World Tokyo is a blog relating to the great, new and wonderful technology Japan has to offer.

What can I find there?
The latest products, video games, inventions, ideas, theories, useful (and sometimes not so) technology and just weird technology to come out of Japan.

Why should I check it out?
If you are interested in technology, interesting products, or Japan this site is definitely worth a visit. Japan has the coolest, weirdest, and most interesting gadgets in the world, so go see for yourself!

Conclusion
Digital World Tokyo is a great technology blog about Japan that will give you a direct connection to the ever changing and up and coming tech scene from Japan. Japan has long been considered to be ahead of the game when it comes to the tech world, and Digital World Tokyo shows you why. The only downside is that it is not updated as often as I would like, but hey, there can only be so much technology news a day right?
